Each fall we hold a popcorn fundraiser managed by Scouting America and the Simon Kenton Council.  This is an easy and well known fundraiser because all of the set up is done for us! Plus the scouts love it because they can win prizes!!! 

Our pack receives 32-35% of the sales back so that helps us with some administrative costs and to continue some of the extra activities we like to sprinkle in! Scouts can sell popcorn door to door, online or at organized store fronts. Once a scout is registered, they will have the ability to access their popcorn account!

While this may seem like alot for a scout to do especially starting out, there is quite a bit they can learn. Part of the Scout Law is being thrifty so selling popcorn to reduce their dues for next year teaches them that. Plus, it's a great way to learn about public speaking, marketing, that it's ok if someone says no and interacting with adults. This article is a nice perspective on the fundraiser as well. 

Online: 

• You should have received an email to set up your scout's Trail's End account. If not, let our popcorn kernel, Chris Wiseman, know.

• You can share your online selling site via email, social media or text. 

• You can also sign up for store front's in your online account.

• Online orders are directly shipped to the customer--no need to deliver it later!

Door to Door Show and Sell on the Trail's End app: 

• Your Scout can "sign out" popcorn products from the Pack and sell them door to door. All payments are processed through the Trail's End app.  can use the order form to do door to door sales, on the phone orders or use it at your work. 

• If customers pay in cash, it is recommended that parents collect the cash and then reimburse that amount to Trail's End through the app--no need to submit cash!

Storefront Show and Sell

• Sign up for shifts in th Trail's End app. Every shift is 2 hours long and up to two scouts can sign up for each. Parents must accompany their scouts for storefront Show and Sells.

• Popcorn, tables, and materials for selling will be dropped off for your use. Contact Chris or Jason for more information/questions.

Popcorn Incentive

Scouts can sell popcorn in August through October. Each scout’s dues are offset by their individual popcorn sales.  Below are example numbers (example doesn't include New Scout Fee). Scouts can also earn gift cards from Trail's End!
